Bester Lehrling der Nation: Klaus Lehmerhofer

The EuroSkills 2018 in Budapest was a remarkable success for Austria: the local craftsmen were pleased with three of the four gold medals, five silver and two bronze medals. The title “Best of Nation” went to Klaus Lehmerhofer, a young automotive technician apprentice from Gföhl in the Waldviertel. “An absolute top result for Austria’s largest apprentice trainer and a sign that our young skilled tradespeople score points with their qualifications and the quality of their products and services,” emphasized Renate Scheichelbauer-Schuster, chairwoman of the Federal Trade and Crafts Division in the WKO. Automotive technician Klaus Lehmerhofer, who is training at BMW Auer in Krems an der Donau, was awarded the gold medal in the automotive technology competition, while heavy vehicle technician Manuel Fahrnecker from Kuffern, who is learning agricultural machinery technology at Pamberger in Obritzberg, brought home a silver medal.
