Garanta warns against embezzlement
It happens again and again that a supposed prospective buyer makes off with the demonstration car. Attention: Not every comprehensive insurance policy pays for such a loss.

Garanta warns against embezzlement
“A fundamental distinction must be made between theft and embezzlement,” explains Stefan Enthofer, Head of the Garanta Performance Center. Theft occurs when someone breaks into a vehicle and drives away with it. In the case of embezzlement, on the other hand, someone appropriates a car that was previously entrusted to them by the dealer, for example for the duration of a prospective buyer's trip. If the customer does not return the vehicle to the owner after the agreed period, keeps it or sells it on its own initiative, this constitutes misappropriation. “If the car dealership wants to be sure that in the event of embezzlement, the insurance will reimburse the damage caused, it absolutely needs high-quality comprehensive insurance,” advises Enthofer and assures that with Garanta, both theft and embezzlement are covered in the comprehensive insurance tariffs.
