Ford Focus: The station wagon makes sense
The new Ford Focus is available as both a hatchback and a station wagon. The latter scores with a huge trunk and is therefore recommended for families or sporty people with space-consuming leisure equipment.

Ford Focus: The station wagon makes sense

Feel: A generous amount of space, comfortable seats with good thigh support, clear fittings, all the rotary and push buttons in the usual positions, a non-slip steering wheel, that's all you need to feel comfortable. There is also plenty of knee and elbow room in the rear seats, with plenty of cargo space behind them - probably the most important decision criterion for the “Traveller” station wagon version.
Drive: 4.67 meters long with a correspondingly long wheelbase and a comfortably coordinated chassis are the best conditions for stress-free cross-country and motorway journeys. Several electronic helpers, from a crash assistant to an avoidance assistant and a warning of cross traffic when pulling out of a parking space, support the driver - the only thing that seems a little illogical is that the lane change assistant is only active when the cruise control with spacer is also switched on. The smooth-running diesel does a good job in a well-behaved and calm manner, as does the 8-speed automatic transmission.
Load: With a trunk volume of 541 liters, which can be expanded to 1,653 liters with the rear seats folded down, the load space, which is free of edges and gaps and is therefore ideally usable, meets all transport needs on the way to the supermarket or furniture store. The loading sill is only 63 centimeters high, which makes loading heavy suitcases or crates of drinks comfortable. The rear seats can also be folded down from the trunk using two levers, and a 12-volt socket is available for the camping ice box or other electrical devices.
Conclusion: The new Ford Focus Tournament is a pleasant touring station wagon that scores with plenty of space and an excellent chassis. However, if you travel a lot in the city, you should allow more time to look for a parking space, as it is not always easy to find a suitable space for the 4.67 meter long body. (be)
