Jochen Drobilich is a workshop foreman at Wiesenthal Handel and Service GmbH in Vienna Oberlaa. The Mercedes brand workshop employs six automotive technicians and three apprentices. On average, they repair and service 20 cars and vans up to 3.5 tons per day; a total of nine lifting platforms are available in the spacious workshop halls. Three employees are authorized to carry out spot checks and prepare §57a reports. “We issue three to four stickers every day, plus around 12 replacement stickers for Mo’Drive customers who have had a windshield repaired,” explains Drobilich. Like his colleagues, he uses the EBV every day as a digital tool for spot assessment. “I am very satisfied with the program. Compared to before, both the creation of the report and the administration of the replacement stickers are much quicker and easier,” says Drobilich.

QUESTIONS FOR THE EXPERTS

Although the current decrees of the state government, which affect the §57a assessment, are constantly communicated in the news box on the homepage of “automotive services”, questions sometimes arise in the hectic workshop activity. For example, the entry of a “slight defect” in the case of rust on the exhaust muffler was declared invalid. “Today you can only mark a ‘serious defect’ if there is a hole in the exhaust. In the past, you could protect yourself somewhat against consequential damage by noting a ‘minor defect’,” explains Drobilich. If the authorized inspector is not 100% sure about the preparation of a report, he or she may be able to quickly clarify any open questions with a chat entry on the automotive services homepage. “I have never waited longer than a quarter of an hour for a satisfactory answer,” says the Wiesenthal workshop master happily.

AND IT’S THAT EASY:

▶ Log in to the automotive services homepage with your login details - the chat function is only available to registered EBV users.

▶ On the home page you will find a square speech bubble with a grin symbol at the bottom right.

▶ After clicking on the speech bubble, a window opens in which you can type your question.

▶ To emotionally reinforce your message, you have the option of selecting a suitable animated gif. You can also attach a document or photo by clicking on the bracket symbol.

▶ After sending your message, it appears directly on the desktop of the support team, which is on duty from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will immediately take care of answering all inquiries.
