Europe's Car of the Year is...

The Toyota Yaris is the "Car of the Year 2021". The fourth generation of the popular small car secures an annual award given by specialist journalists - following in the footsteps of the very first Yaris, which won the title back in 2000.

With a total of 266 points, the Yaris won the race for the title “Car of the Year 2021”. The jury particularly praised the hybrid technology, driving pleasure and low CO2emissions at affordable prices - a combination that also appeals to customers. Four fifths of all Yaris buyers choose the alternative drive. The design and the unusually high level of safety in this segment were also positively highlighted. With the GR Yaris, Toyota is also offering a particularly sporty version that will rekindle the passion for hatchback models in Europe, the experts praised.

Toyota is presenting Europe's Car of the Year for the third time: In addition to the first Yaris 2000 and the current new edition, the Prius 2005 also won the award.
