According to an EU regulation, the first registration in the EU of two- and three-wheeled motor vehicles (L3e, L4e, L5e, L7e) is only possible from January 1, 2017 if they meet the Euro 4 emissions standard.

However, the EU regulation provides for the possibility of an exemption for individual storage vehicles that will no longer be registered until December 31, 2016. The following should be noted: Authorized importers will receive a decree from the BMVIT around mid-October along with the necessary application forms for the exemptions (as a link on the BMVIT homepage). The storage vehicles communicated to the importers by the dealers must be included in the application to the authority, stating the chassis number. For new vehicles that do not comply with EU Regulation 168/2013, dealers and gray importers must contact the authorized importer and provide him with the required vehicle data. For individually approved vehicles (including used vehicles for imports from third countries!), the approval document must be checked to see when initial registration is possible. If necessary, the licensing authority must be contacted regarding an exceptional permit.
