Ernst Prost exclusively: salary waiver is not a marketing insult

Ernst Prost, Managing Director of Liqui Moly, has caused a stir with two reports in the last few days. On the one hand, he pays each employee 1,000 euros more gross wages on their next salary. A kind of Corona consolation, as he himself says. On the other hand, he says he would give up his salary if necessary. A great gesture or just a marketing gimmick? We asked Ernst Prost directly in an exclusive interview:
"It's much more trivial. (laughs) The 1000 euro consolation came about because I was given it by two fellow entrepreneurs(Editor's note: this is how Prost refers to his employees) It was heard that due to the crisis there was a loss in their household income. So I decided to help. We then extended the help to all around 1,000 fellow entrepreneurs. In difficult times, every euro counts. As a boss, I have to be a role model and also make my contribution. That’s why my salary waiver – if necessary – is not a marketing gimmick but is completely serious.”
