Toyota Motor Europe (TME), Brussels, took over the distribution of its Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles in Austria on March 1, 2019.

This means that all existing dealers in Austria will work with the newly founded Toyota Austria GmbH, and the Frey family will remain connected to their Toyota and Lexus car dealerships in the Toyota trading organization. Toyota Austria GmbH takes over all rights and obligations of the previous importer TFAG: All employees who worked for TFAG will be taken over by the new company. Heiko Twellmann (52) will be the managing director of the new company. He has worked for Toyota Deutschland GmbH in various functions for 12 years. Most recently he was responsible for the Lexus business in Germany. Previous positions included dealer development at Toyota and management of sales/marketing in the service area.
