E-mobility: Lower Austria and Upper Austria cooperate
There has been close cooperation between Lower Austria and Upper Austria in the cluster area since 2005. Due to the good experiences, the tried and tested collaboration will be expanded to include the topic of electromobility. The Lower Austria business agency ecoplus and the Upper Austrian location agency Business Upper Austria signed an agreement to this end. "Especially when it comes to future technologies such as e-mobility, our cooperation projects must not end at the federal state borders. The aim of the strategic networking between the state initiative 'e-mobile in Lower Austria' and the Upper Austrian Automobile Cluster is joint activities to strengthen value creation and employment in the area of electromobility in our regions," explained Lower Austria's State Councilor for Economic Affairs Petra Bohuslav and Upper Austria's State Councilor for Economic Affairs Markus Achleitner.
There are already some very specific projects in the pipeline at the start of the cooperation: suppliers from the conventional drive train are to be supported in the technology assessment of alternative forms of drive. In addition, the scope of an Upper Austrian test region for automated and networked driving is to be expanded to Lower Austria.
These and other projects will be realized in the coming months and years by the state of Lower Austria's electromobility initiative "e-mobil in lower Austria", which is implemented by the state's business agency ecoplus, and by the automobile cluster of the Upper Austrian location agency Business Upper Austria. "Cross-border collaboration and the famous ability to think outside the box are becoming more and more important in our networked times. This success credo does not only apply to individual companies and R&D institutions. We have been setting a good example here for a long time, because when the important players pull together, everyone benefits," ecoplus managing director Helmut Miernicki and Werner Pamminger, managing director of Biz-Up, agree.
