E-charging station pioneer Volta Charging starts in Austria

Volta Inc., the U.S. industry leader in commercial electric vehicle charging, announced its expansion into the European market, initially focusing on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. The announcement was made today at the NOAH conference in Zurich.
The highlight: Volta Charging turns the simple charging station into a piece of digital street furniture. Cities and municipalities, real estate developers and retailers can easily refinance Volta Charging's charging stations because they decide what information is displayed on the charging stations' high-end screens and how they can best approach climate-conscious customers and residents.
With unique charging stations equipped with large-format digital screens and located near the entrances of major business centers, Volta's network is among the most widely used in the United States. For consumers, Volta says it offers hassle-free, reliable charging that fits into their daily lives and routines.
For site partners, the stations' eye-catching displays and prominent locations help increase sales by attracting more customers for longer periods of time. For advertisers, Volta Stations are an innovative digital outdoor advertising platform that allows brands to reach customers immediately before they enter a store where they shop.
The construction of Volta's network is supported by technologies in behavioral sciences and machine learning, which enable the company to deploy the infrastructure intelligently and efficiently.
Macroeconomic upheavals
“We believe in a future powered by renewable energy: a clean, connected world adapted to the way we live,” explains Chris Wendel, co-founder and president of Volta. "Over the past 10 years, we have honed our expertise in the US - and fueled one of the most significant macroeconomic shifts of our time. We are proud that the company we have built is now expanding into Europe and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead."
Consumer behavior around charging and retail is changing rapidly, says Vincent Grena, Head of Volta Europe. “Volta is anticipating future developments today and showing that companies can build a sustainable future and thrive at the same time,” said Grena. "We look forward to working with experienced industry experts in our local teams. Together we offer our location partners measurable economic benefits and e-car drivers maximum comfort."
Volta's expansion in Europe will be implemented by experienced local teams consisting of EV charging hardware and software engineers, SaaS experts and digital outdoor advertising sales managers, operating from initial offices in Berlin and Paris.
