Are showrooms allowed to open?
Shops with a maximum sales area of 400 m2 are allowed to open again after Easter, from Tuesday, April 14, 2020. This should also apply to car dealership showrooms. This is what Christian Pesau, CEO of the AK of Automobile Importers, assumes.

Next Thursday, the automobile importers will have a meeting with Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck: “We will present our positions,” said Pesau on the automotive industry. “I assume that the showrooms of the car dealerships, insofar as they are smaller than 400 m2 are allowed to open. That vehicles can be delivered and registered after Easter.” The question of whether structurally separate showrooms are possible, i.e. whether showrooms can also be separated off in order to reduce the area, can presumably be answered with a “no”. "We assume that this will not be possible. We have already received these signals," explains Christian Pesau.
