Ducati increases sales and returns in 2019

Ducati ends 2019 with positive results, showing that the Italian motorcycle manufacturer has consolidated the growth trend of recent years. 53,183 (2018: 53,004) motorcycles were delivered to customers worldwide. This is the fifth year in a row that sales exceeded 50,000 motorcycles, another sign of positive development in the market in the over 500 cc segment, which recorded global growth of 1.4%.
Sales at the end of 2019 were €716 million (2018: €699 million), increasing by 2.4%. The operating result amounted to €52 million (2018: €49 million) with a return on sales of 7.2% (2018: 7%).
Particularly significant is the turnover per motorcycle, which at around €13,500 per motorcycle was higher than ever before in the company's history - a clear indication of the development towards a high-quality product range for the premium segment.
Panigale and Multistrada were the pillars of this success. For the second year in a row, the Panigale was the best-selling supersport motorcycle in the world with a market share of 25%, while the Multistrada family, with the new 950 S and the revised Enduro, recorded the highest number of motorcycles sold since its launch in 2003.
Ducati Motor Holding currently employs 1,655 people. The sales network of the motorcycle manufacturer based in Borgo Panigale (Bologna) includes 720 dealers in over 90 countries.
