Doppler Group: Fuel sales have reached their peak
The Doppler Group is the largest private gas station operator in Austria (Turmöl). The company broke the one billion liter mark for the first time (2018). Nevertheless, the peak in fuel sales has been reached. The future prospects are nevertheless positive.

Doppler Group: Fuel sales have reached their peak
The Doppler Group was able to sell one billion liters of diesel and carburetor fuel as well as heating oil in 2018, thus achieving the company's self-imposed goal. “The group once again achieved a good result in 2018. The EGT (adjusted for special effects) amounted to 10.1 million euros and was therefore increased compared to the previous year,” reports Bernd Zierhut, managing director of the Doppler Group. The operating cash flow also increased from 15.2 to 21.2 million euros in 2018. “The Doppler Group has an extremely efficient and well-structured filling station network that sold 563 million liters of fuel last year,” says Zierhut. "This extremely satisfactory result was achieved thanks to the successful implementation of our strategy - to establish the gas station as a service center. In addition, the newly acquired business areas of the Doppler Group have integrated and developed well," explains Franz Joseph Doppler, owner. Nevertheless, Zierhut sees the peak in Austrian fuel sales as having been reached. “From now on, there will be more of a sideways or slight downward movement.” The reasons: The emerging electromobility and changing usage behavior of domestic drivers.
In order to be fit for the future as a company, the Doppler Group is constantly expanding its business areas. “Our goal is to act as an energy provider on the market,” says Franz Joseph Doppler. With Doppler Aviation, the group of companies entered the sales of aircraft fuel and with Turmgas in the natural gas market.
