Doppler Group: Cracked the billion again

The Doppler Group is the largest, independent and owner-managed gas station operator in Austria. 254 tank facilities are in operation, including 212 tower oil stations. In 2019, the company, headquartered in Wels, cracked the billion mark again: 1.044 billion liters of diesel, carburetor fuel (petrol) and heating oil were sold. The EGT rose to 13.8 million euros and the operating cash flow to 26.2 million euros. This means the company is in excellent health.

Electricity will come

Managing director Bernd Zierhut made it clear during the press breakfast: "The mineral oil market will come under pressure, electric cars are becoming increasingly popular. The political and social landscape is pushing towards e-mobility." So far, the Doppler Group's e-charging stations (14 fast-charging and 3 standard charging stations across Austria) have been a loss-making business. But: “It’s now about securing locations and making investments in the future,” says Franz Joseph Doppler. While the mineral oil market across Austria only grew by 0.4% in 2019, the Doppler Group was able to grow by 4.3%. It currently has a market share of 10% in the domestic mineral oil market.
