The Bugatti Chiron super sports car, especially the special Pur Sport model with 1,500 hp, which is limited to 60 units, is currently stirring up a lot of excitement. The latter costs more than three million euros. But even that doesn't protect against a recall: after cracks were discovered on the rear tires (special tires from Michelin), customers now receive a new set of tires after just 3,000 kilometers. By the way, one of these costs around 40,000 euros. A good deal, especially since the actual estimated lifespan of the tires is only around 4,000 kilometers anyway.
Meanwhile, things are currently rising in Germany. In July 2021, a Czech multimillionaire raced his Chiron at speeds of up to 417 km/h over a section of the German A2 motorway between Berlin and Hanover that was rarely used at the time. It is believed to be the highest speed ever achieved on a public road.
Police are investigating
The 58-year-old recently published a video of it on the Internet, causing discussions and sometimes even a wave of outrage.
In principle, there is no speed limit on motorways in Germany, but the matter now has an official consequence: the police initiated an investigation against the man because of a suspected illegal street race. The public prosecutor's office will examine the case, it was said in Magdeburg.
