The new SUV eminence is here

Gudrun Glück (Markenkommunikation Audi) präsentiert den neuen, feschen Q5 quattro.

For the first time this year, Porsche Holding GmbH invited people to a driving day in Neuwaldegg. Between Exelberg and Höhenstraße, the new Q5 quattro was able to successfully demonstrate what it is capable of on wintry roads. Positive: The all-wheel drive impresses with its traction and comfortable chassis set-up, and it can cope with demanding terrain without any problems. In short: the Ingolstadt team is setting the bar high again.

Since 2008, over 16,000 models of the first generation of the Q5 have been sold in Austria, making it one of Audi's most popular SUVs in this country. Last year alone, 1,250 vehicles were sold, explains event manager Gudrun Glück in an interview. The company now wants to build on the strengths that have already convinced customers. When it comes to the exterior, the emphasis is on the “coupe-like” appearance for the sake of “slipperiness”.

The Q5 appears flatter, although it is six millimeters higher than its predecessor. A larger, hexagonal “single frame” grill adorns the front, the headlights have been reduced in size and look sportier. The “generational leap” is particularly visible in the interior. The revised SUV not only comes with high-quality assistance and infotainment systems, it also has plenty of storage space (up to 610 liters) in its luggage. The all-wheel drive vehicle will go on sale with five engines, including four TDIs and one TFSI.
