The most sought-after used cars

Beliebtester Gebrauchtwagen: Dacia Duster

In the last 12 months (September 2015 to August 2016), the Dacia Duster, with an age of between one and six years, was on average the shortest vehicle on the Austrian market that was advertised on used car exchanges. With an average of 39 days on offer, the Duster can outperform its nearest rival, the Peugeot 207, by 7 days on offer. Idle times are one of the most important influencing factors in used car sales, which determine the amount of profit or loss. The shorter the time at the dealer until resale, the lower the costs (used car space, financing, preparation, loss of value, etc.) that the dealer incurs. “In our analyses, we found that in many cases the margin becomes very small or threatens to turn into a loss after around 60 days of standstill,” explains Martin Novak, Country Manager at Eurotax Austria. The ranking of the first 10 used cars with the shortest downtimes: Dacia Duster, Peugeot 207, KIA Sportage, Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai i20, Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, VW Touran Familiy, Ford Galaxy Mini Van, Hyundai iX35, Ford Fiesta.
