The jury's verdict, consisting of 96 renowned automotive journalists from 30 countries, was announced at a live World Car Awards ceremony at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). “It is a great honor for everyone at Kia that the EV3 has been recognized with the World Car of Year 2025 title,” said Ho Sung Song, president and CEO of Kia. With the victory of the EV3, Kia takes the prestigious “World Car of the Year” title for the second time in a row; last year the brand flagship EV9 was successful. The 4.30 meter long EV3 scores with a combination of progressive design based on Kia's “Opposites United” philosophy, modern technology and an innovative, living room-like interior. Its range is up to 605 kilometers and the generous luggage compartment holds 460 liters. There are also high-tech elements such as a digital car key or preparation for intelligent bi-directional charging. The front-wheel drive E-SUV with 150 kW (204 hp) is available with two batteries (58.3 and 81.4 kWh), each of which can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around half an hour.

With the prestigious award, Hyundai leads the World Car Awards in one or more categories with a model for the fourth time in a row. “The combination of compelling design, range, appropriate driving characteristics and intuitive infotainment are emblematic of Hyundai’s approach to offering our customers exceptional value,” said José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, at the awards ceremony. As a compact electric car, the Inster impresses in its segment with its original design and advanced technology. The on-board charging management enables charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes, with the model with the 49 kWh battery offering a range of up to 370 km.
