The best Viennese apprentices

A total of 37 committed young talents, including 11 body construction technicians and 26 automotive technicians, took part in the Vienna apprentice challenge. Helmut Neverla, training officer for automotive technicians in the WKO, drew a positive conclusion: “I was surprised at the commitment with which the companies prepared their apprentices for the challenge – that wasn’t always the case in the past.” There was big applause for the boys on the winners' podium. Simon Putzker, who came first among automotive technicians, is currently only completing his second year of training, as is his colleague Alexander Kaltenböck, who came in third place. Nevertheless, they had the courage to take on the Vienna challenge – and were rewarded. Eight girls also found the courage to face the demanding competition and demonstrated with great performances that they are definitely equal to their male colleagues. Solo entertainer Tricky Niki, who was hired as a clown during breaks, realized that her sensitivity and intelligence should not be underestimated. When he forced apprentice Diana Todorovic to play his assistant on stage and answered his cheap come-on lines herself in a ventriloquist's voice, she endured the embarrassing performance with a stoic expression. In the end, she refused Tricky Niki's invitation to "cuddle" and left the clown standing on stage. Applause!
