The car models of traffic offenders
Notorious traffic offenders prefer certain brands of cars. But what they are may surprise some people.

The car models of traffic offenders
Verivox is a German comparison portal that roughly corresponds to the Austrian durchblicker.at. In a current evaluation of vehicle insurance policies, Verivox created an interesting ranking of the biggest traffic offenders listed in the German Flensburg database and correlated the results with their car models. It turned out that there is a clear number 1 that puts all the others ahead by a clear margin: The drivers of the Mercedes CLA are an impressive 70 percent above the average with their Flensburg points. The sporty premium sedan puts up to 218 hp on the road, and people obviously like to take advantage of it: no other car model has such a high frequency of drivers with points in the driving fitness register in Flensburg. Anyone who takes out car insurance provides information about existing points in Flensburg. Verivox evaluated this information anonymously. The 100 car models and the 30 car brands that are most frequently insured via the comparison portal were taken into account.
In the Verivox car model ranking, the Mercedes CLA is followed by the Skoda Superb. Otherwise, Audi models dominate the top 10. The Ingolstadt-based company is represented with six different model series. Places three to six are occupied by the Audi models A5, Q5, A1 and A6. The TT sports car is in eighth place, the mid-range A4 model in tenth.

When comparing car brands, drivers of high-horsepower cars are also in the lead: Porsche drivers have 68 percent more points than the average of all drivers and thus end up in first place in the Flensburg ranking. The sports cars from Zuffenhausen are followed at some distance by the brands Audi, Land Rover and Jaguar.

Suzuki drivers are much more rule-abiding and therefore underrepresented in the Flensburg database. They have 34 percent fewer points than average. Of the car models, the Toyota Yaris is the least likely to be insured by point offenders. There is also another Mercedes model among the cars of the drivers with the fewest points. The B-Class is preferably driven through German roads in compliance with the StVO.
