The introduction of NoVA for light commercial vehicles in particular is a bone of contention. The transport association wants to do its utmost to stop the implementation of the new NoVA or at least to show alternatives.

“Yes, traffic has to go towards CO2-Neutrality. But the renewed NoVA increase or the introduction of the NoVA for light commercial vehicles is completely the wrong approach. Just because the vehicles are becoming significantly more expensive when they are purchased, not one liter less fuel is burned in Austria, on the contrary," says Henning Heise, Chairman of the Fleet Association Austria (FVA). The FVA is therefore inviting all members and interested companies to a webinar on January 26th, 2021, in which, among other things, the specific effects of the new NoVA on their own company will be discussed, possible further activities of the fleet association and the available results from the survey (in which 170 companies took part 40,000 vehicles took part) are presented and interpreted.

Heise: "Together we as a fleet association and company can change something - and try to stop the NoVA ballast for companies, which from today's perspective has no positive effects on the environment. To do this, we want sensible alternatives to reducing CO2- Work out the burden of traffic and present it to politicians. But for this we have to come together, stand together and exchange ideas and coordinate, which is why we as an association ask for active participation.”
