Denzel has big plans for MG
Wolfgang Denzel Auto AG would like to sustainably position the British cult brand, which is now firmly in Chinese hands, in Austria. The goal is chosen optimistically.

Denzel has big plans for MG
MG has stood for English roadster feeling since 1924. The MG brand has experienced a lot in the last 100 years. Since 2007, it has been part of the Shanghai Automotive Industrie Corporation (SAIC), the 7th largest automobile manufacturer in the world. SAIC is the clear number one in China and recently manufactured seven million vehicles a year, and also cooperates with Volkswagen and Daimler, for example. Wolgang Denzel Auto AG has now taken over the general import of MG for Austria and would like to get started.
Hansjörg Mayr, board member of Denzel AG, says: “With MG we are positioning ourselves more broadly and want to contribute our share to the “Green Deal”. In the future, MG will stand for modern, sustainable drive concepts, European design and affordable prices. Asia Car Import Austria Gmbh, a 100 percent subsidiary of Wolfgang Denzel Auto AG, is responsible for general import and sales.”
is the managing director of the new company Andreas Kostelecky, who will continue to manage the Mitsubishi brand in Austria. Kostelecky clearly defines the goal for 2021: “We want to do it in the first yearSell 1000 vehiclesn.” How is this supposed to succeed? "The MG models come with a seven-year guarantee (or 150,000 km), with a 5-star NCAP crash test result and a clear model and equipment structure. There will be a total of four models by the end of the year, and the delivery time will be three to four weeks."
Product & PR Manager Michael Ellies explains: "We want to maintain very personal, direct customer contact with the brand. There are five exterior colors and two interior design options for the current two models. MG models come with the most modern driving assistance system and extensive basic equipment. They are practical, sustainable and stylish cars."
Kostelecky is aiming for Austria-wide dealer coverage: “We currently have 20 dealers. We want to have it by the end of the yeargrow to 30 dealers across Austria. We are excited about the new MG idea. You can literally feel the power of a start-up company.”
