The two experts informed the listeners about the technical and economic aspects of dent repair. History, material science, technical and commercial law aspects, but also the limits of feasibility were discussed. The topic of quality assurance in the form of certification for dent technicians was one of the focal points of the lecture. Certification is necessary to define and maintain high standards of dent repair in Austria. With a certified dent technician, the vehicle owner, the car dealership and the insurance company have the highest possible security in the quality of the work and handling of the damage. The new certification program for dent technicians of the Federal Automotive Technology Guild, professional group for body construction technicians, body painters and wheelwrights, started in autumn 2018. The certification tests are carried out by the Federal Guild in cooperation with the Union of Independent, Sworn, Court-Certified Experts for the Austrian Motor Vehicle Industry.
