“It is a balancing and grounding shade that is intended to reconnect us with what surrounds us – nature and life.” This is how AkzoNobel interprets the results of the current trend study. The color “Brave Ground” is currently the winner. The interpretation is this: When times change and the world is no longer the same, we want to feel solid ground under our feet. In these times, people are looking for stability and they find comfort in familiar things, according to the conclusion of the current global AkzoNobel trend study. With an environment that encourages and empowers, it is easier to develop anew and take responsibility for the future. 

Different missions

“The annual trend research we conduct with leading design professionals influences our entire paints and coatings business,” says David Menko, Marketing Director at AkzoNobel. “Our design teams develop the trendy paints and varnishes for our customers in many different areas, such as decoration, architecture, aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics and wood coatings.” 

Neutral colors like the new “Brave Ground” make a statement in themselves and can make other colors shine at the same time. In addition to the decorative area, other AkzoNobel business areas also use these trend colors, including automotive and special coatings, powder coatings and wood coatings. Each area adapts the color palettes to the color, texture and surface requirements of its customers.
