Cyber key for the workshop

After Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which already protects the vehicle data of its current models against unauthorized access via Security Gateway (SGW), Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz are now also releasing the first models with a partial access block to the vehicle data BUS. Only with the right digital key will independent workshops be able to diagnose such vehicles in the future, control components or make basic settings as usual. Hella Gutmann will initially be offering the SGW adapter for unlocking the security gateway on FCA vehicles from January 2020. This is plugged between the OBD interface and mega macs and connected to an internet-capable laptop via a USB cable. In order to make the process for independent multi-brand workshops as time-saving as possible in the future, Hella Gutmann plans to fully implement comprehensive cyber security management in the mega macs software in the second expansion stage. This OE-compliant embedding allows you to select the manufacturer portals and activate them directly from the mega macs. The integrated cyber security management will be activated as part of a software update at the end of 2020.
