Corona increases the car emotion

The rational attachment to the car - being dependent on it in everyday life - is one thing, the importance of the car - the emotional connection - is another. As a survey conducted by AutoScout24.at at the beginning of 2020 shows, 59 percent of Austrian car owners depend on their car in everyday life. In contrast, however, there are 85 percent who attach very or rather important importance to their mobile vehicle and therefore have a high emotional connection to it. In the wake of the Corona crisis, this high level of attachment to their own set of wheels increased even further for almost 60 percent of Austrians, as a current study shows. 28 percent of those surveyed became even more aware of how much independence the car gives them. A quarter each felt good about being able to just get in and drive off or at least having some freedom of movement with their own set of wheels during the lockdown. For at least 18 percent, the car was the gateway to independence in an increasingly strictly regulated environment.
