Corona: Santander supports motor vehicle trade

As a global and responsible bank, Santander Consumer Bank supports the measures taken by the Austrian Federal Government to contain Covid-19. The closure of car dealerships and motorcycle dealers will have enormous negative economic consequences for the motor vehicle trade. That's why the bank is supporting its vehicle dealer partners and deferring warehouse financing payments upon request: devaluations will be postponed until the next due date in three months. The final payments will also be postponed by three months. Both measures apply immediately and as long as sales outlets and showrooms are officially closed. "As a retail partner, we see it as our job to help vehicle dealers quickly and unbureaucratically in this exceptional situation. We are in constant contact with our partners in order to be able to provide them with the best possible support with their individual challenges. By deferring due payments, we protect the businesses' all-important liquidity," says Michael Schwaiger, Commercial Director Auto Business. “Even after the crisis, it is important to stimulate retail business again with support measures.” In order to protect the health of business partners and employees, all employees are currently working from home. Area managers and contact persons at headquarters and in the service center would be available by telephone and email as usual.
