Continental Powertrain becomes Vitesco Technologies”
Continental's drive business has successfully completed its realignment as the first area within the technology company; the changeover to the new name "Vitesco Technologies" is planned for the second half of 2019. The management team is led by CEO Andreas Wolf, and a partial IPO is planned from 2020. In addition to the combustion drive business, the company also operates the entire future business with hybrid and electric drives as well as all ongoing battery activities. Continental is a technology leader in the electrification of the drive and is able to deliver complete electrification of the drive train from a single source: from the 48-volt system to integrated hybrid concepts in the transmission and axle to the pure electric drive including power and charging electronics and battery management system. Continental power electronics are, for example, installed in the Jaguar I-PAC. The company's importance in the drive market is reflected in the high level of incoming orders: in 2018, they amounted to around 11 billion euros, of which around 2 billion euros were in the area of electromobility.
