Federal Automotive Technology Guild is repositioning itself

Federal Automotive Technology Guild is repositioning itself
At the conference of the state guild masters of automotive technology in February 2021, it was decided to pool the knowledge of the professional groups of body construction technicians and automotive technicians by forming four competence centers (KC) in the future and thus make the range of services available to members more transparent.
“The aim of the new structure is that the new competence centers for member service, paint and bodywork, technology, training and further education are staffed by competent experts and, led by a chairman, bundle the greatest possible specialist knowledge and are available to our members with advice and support,” KommR Mst. Josef Harb, Federal Guild Master of Vehicle Technology.
KC Member Service
“We are the think tank of the federal guild,” says Mst. Manfred Kubik, deputy federal guild master and head of the KC Member Service. "Where will we be in five years and what tools do our member companies need is the core question we will be dealing with. There should be no limits to this."
KC paint and bodywork
“This KC is concerned with providing information and preparing it into appropriate guidelines,” describes Mst. Franz Ofer, head of this KC. In addition, it is important to significantly increase the proportion of companies with calculation programs. “Because only your own calculation can provide a basis for operational cost accounting.”
KC technology
KommR Ing. Josef Puntinger has been heading this KC for five years and underlines the need to deal with upcoming challenges, especially in the face of technological change: “New drive systems, assistance systems, electronic security systems or access to maintenance and repair information will be the fundamental knowledge of the future,” says Puntinger. "And that applies to all of our member companies, be it brand workshops, independent workshops or paint or body shops. Everyone is affected by this."
KC training and further education
Federal Guild Master Deputy Mst. Roman Keglovits-Ackerer, BA will now be responsible for the training and further education of the Federal Guild. “With the National Qualifications Framework we have a suitable instrument to train our employees to become highly qualified specialists,” says Keglovits happily. "The extensive material is far too much for previous apprenticeship training. That's why we have to think step by step and we have been given the "NQF" tool for this purpose. We just have to absorb it and use it.”
“With this work structure, the Federal Guild of Automotive Technology has come a significant step closer to the merger of the former Body Construction Technology and Motor Vehicle Technology guilds,” says Federal Guild Master Harb happily. “The next step will be the consolidation of the state automotive technology championship on September 9th and 10th, 2021 in Vienna.”
