BP and Doppler separate

The Doppler company has always focused on progress. To this end, work began in 2019 to modernize the 42 Doppler BP gas stations step by step and later give them a new tower oil look. Doppler still operates a total of 28 gas stations under the BP brand. Austria's largest independent and private gas station operator will invest by spring 2022 in order to integrate the last gas stations into the Turmöl gas station network in a way that is visible to the outside world. This means that the long-standing partnership between Doppler and BP is coming to an end. "We were pioneers when we introduced the Harmony concept in 2001 in collaboration with BP and modernized the appearance of BP gas stations in Austria. For us, it is the next step to appear to the outside world as a closed gas station brand," explains Bernd Zierhut, Managing Director of the Doppler Group.

In addition to Turmöl and Turmöl Quick, the uniform, modern external appearance also includes all other areas such as the Pico bello car wash, tower electricity and tower gas (CNG). In this way, Doppler is taking into account the development of the gas station into a service center. "When I take a look into the future, I see, on the one hand, the importance of electricity increasing. Closely related to this, the division into petrol stations as service centers versus fuel dispensers will progress much faster and more massively. And you have to be prepared for that as a company," says Zierhut. Just as important to Doppler as the uniform appearance is the clear positioning as a discount chain with affordable prices for Turmöl and Turmöl Quick, affordable laundry with Pico bello as well as a flexible and spontaneous shopping experience at supermarket prices and extended opening hours at Spar Express.

Electromobility is becoming more and more important in Austria. Under the Turmstrom brand, consumers can find e-charging stations with fast and standard charging stations. The Doppler Group network currently includes 17 fast charging stations. In the future, there will also be increased investment in e-mobility. Doppler is planning to set up its own tower power filling stations at two locations this year. Gas stations are to be built in Wels (Upper Austria) and Neumarkt (Styria) where the focus will be on charging electric cars. Additional services such as washing and care as well as fuel supply for hybrid and combustion vehicles offer a comprehensive, needs-oriented model. “We are monitoring developments here very closely and reacting immediately to market needs,” emphasizes Dr. decorative hat. "Quality, innovation and growth are the motivation for our tireless commitment. The Doppler Group, based in Wels, has also set itself ambitious goals for the future - specifically, the further development into a comprehensive Austrian energy trader, market leadership in the petrol station segment and the liquid gas segment, but also to play a significant role in the topic of electricity and mobility," concluded Bernd Zierhut.
