Bosch promises Li-Ion batteries

At AutoZum, the Bosch team is presenting, among other things, the new diagnostic device for small workshops, the KTS 250, which surpasses its predecessor, the KTS 200, in terms of performance and robustness. In the near future, Bosch wants to increase its activities on the market for starter batteries and present new lithium-ion-based power storage devices, reveals aftersales manager Helmut Stuphann. “This technology has already proven itself on the motorcycle market, and we want to soon offer it for cars and commercial vehicles as well.” The higher purchase costs compared to classic lead-acid batteries would be quickly amortized, especially for fleet operators, due to the longer service life. Expected launch: 2020.
