In the mobility technology category, two teams secured victory with equal points: With their “AirQuad” project, HTL Rennweg students Simon Schedl, Manuel Streith, Simon Friesacher and Christoph Sieber, together with supervisor Martin Meschik, developed an air drive for a commercially available quad in which the gasoline engine was replaced by pneumatic pistons. The “Historic Motorcycle with Electric Drive and Range Extender” project, an environmentally friendly two-wheeler, tied for first place. The winning team from HTBLuVA Salzburg equipped a Puch 125 RL, built in 1954, with an electric motor and range extender. The project supervisor was Thomas Kowarik, the dedicated team members are Rebekka Leisinger, Adrian Perner, Marcel Lauchart and Gerald Mösenlechner. At the awards ceremony in the “Tech Gate Vienna”, all winners received a ticket for a 6-month internship at Bosch. Board member Klaus Huttelmaier congratulated the winners: “The quality of the work submitted was once again excellent, the students’ innovations are hands-on technology for life.”
