Bosch is advertising 250 positions
Automotive supplier Bosch wants to actively shape technological change through electrification, digitalization and networking in cars. Bosch operates its engineering center for mobility solutions in the middle of Vienna. In addition to software and hardware solutions for all types of drives - including electric, hybrid and fuel cell drives - innovative solutions in the area of networked mobility are developed here. These include automated driving and the “Perfectly Keyless” keyless vehicle entry system, where the smartphone functions as a digital car key. At the beginning of 2021, a team for hardware and software development for new electronic architectures in vehicles was set up in the new Bosch “Cross-Domain Computing Solutions” division in Vienna. “In internal company competition, we impress with location advantages, such as the remarkable funding landscape and the highly trained specialists in Austria,” says Helmut Weinwurm, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Robert Bosch AG.
Technicians urgently wanted
A total of more than 750 technical talents work at the Bosch Engineering Center in Vienna. "And we are still looking for the best minds. In the Vienna development area alone, we want to hire an additional 250 engineers by the end of 2022 and thus grow by a third within a year," emphasized Helmut Weinwurm. We are looking for specialists for software and hardware development in the areas of electromobility (especially power electronics) and vehicle computing (electronic architectures in modern vehicles). Technical talent in the areas of embedded software and cyber security as well as data scientists are also particularly in demand. International competence centers for the development of mobility solutions are located at the Bosch locations in Vienna, Linz and Hallein. Around a third of the total 2,940 employees at Bosch in Austria work in the engineering sector. More than 142 million euros, or around 12 percent of sales, went into research and development at Bosch in Austria in 2020.
