BMW presents a recyclable electric car

BMW wants to become the "most sustainable car manufacturer in the world" - and is apparently making great progress: BMW boss Oliver Zipse has now presented a car made 100 percent from old materials and renewable raw materials at the IAA in Munich.
It is called “BMW i Vision Circular” and, according to Zipse, is not just a design study, but, in the words of the CEO, “the way of thinking with which we are developing the new class”, the electric vehicle architecture for the model generations from 2025. The body of the small car is made of recycled, unpainted aluminum and steel. “It can be brought back into the cycle in exactly the same way,” said BMW chief designer Adrian van Hooydonk. Chrome, double frames, bars, trim strips and decorations were left out and the BMW logo was simply lasered into the metal.
There is no chrome or leather inside the vehicle either, only recycled material. Where materials meet, they are connected with connectors and screws so that they can be easily separated and reused when the car is scrapped. The i Vision Circular does without screens: displays important to the driver are displayed on the windshield.
