BMW presents its figures for the third quarter. The Bavarians report a “significant recovery” in the automotive segment - at a low level.

In the months of July to September, the BMW Group's business development recovered noticeably from the previously massive disruption caused by the corona pandemic. In the third quarter the company was able to do so worldwide675,592(PY: 621,981 / +8.6%)Automobilesof the BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands delivered to customers – a new high for a quarter.
The Group sales amounted to26.28 billion euros (PY: €26,667 million / -1.4%). A pleasing development for the joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. in China contributed to a positive development in the financial result. The Consolidated profit before taxes (EBT) rose accordingly by almost ten percent2.46 billion euros (PY: €2,248 million / +9.6%).
The Return on sales before taxes (EBT margin) of the group was in the third quarter9.4 percent (previous year: 8.4%).
The Group profit amounted to1.815 billion euros (PY: €1,546 million / +17.4%).
In the first nine months, the group was able to do so worldwide Delivered 1,638,167 cars to customers.
Taking all the effects into account, it will Consolidated profit before taxes compared to 2019 decline significantly.
