Entering the registration office is prohibited
From now on, entering the registration office is no longer permitted, said Wilhelm Kast (BMVIT) in the decree. Applicants must contact their insurer or registration office by telephone or online.

Entering the registration office is prohibited
The legal orders in connection with the coronavirus passed on March 15, 2020 and the associated measures to be taken by insurers for their employees make it necessary to reduce the operation of the registration offices to emergency operation. The Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) has therefore agreed on the following procedure with the insurance association: The insurance industry ensures the processing of the necessary and urgent approval processes. In order to be able to guarantee this, it is essential to limit the activity to certain absolutely necessary business cases, such as the registration of vehicles used for business purposes that are used to maintain the supply of food or everyday goods or of vehicles that have to be used to maintain public safety or healthcare or the de-registration of vehicles if compelling economic reasons make this necessary.
In order to best support the federal government's measures and thus avoid or limit direct contact, entering the admissions office is not permitted. Customers/applicants must therefore contact their insurer or the registration office in advance by telephone or other electronic means.
