Record visitor numbers at the Caravan Salon
After a one-year break, 41,500 camping and caravanning fans visited the Caravan Salon Austria in Wels this year, setting a new visitor record.

Record visitor numbers at the Caravan Salon
In mid-October, 150 exhibitors from 10 nations presented 60 vehicle brands as well as a wide range of accessories for the trendy “van life” on a total of 30,000 square meters of exhibition space and were rewarded with a real rush of visitors. The organizers were particularly pleased with the large number of beginners and young families. Trade fair director Robert Schneider: “You realize once again that there is no substitute for trade fairs and that visitors long for a personal consultation and a touch & feel experience.” Trade fair manager Petra Leingartner adds: "It was great to see how the halls filled up on each day of the trade fair. We see this as a mission to score points with even more offerings next year - inspired above all by the great feedback from our exhibitors."
Mecca of caravanning
Wels has established itself as a Mecca for all caravanning and camping enthusiasts. Once again, the Caravan Salon Austria lived up to its role as a professional sales platform. There was hardly a new motorhome that didn't change hands over the course of the five days of the trade fair, tons of accessories that could be taken home straight away and lots of new contacts for the booming vanlife community, which was more strongly represented in Wels than ever before. The trend towards holidays on four wheels is continuing, as current figures confirm: 3,125 motorhomes were already registered in 2021 - which corresponds to an increase of around 91 percent compared to the same period last year. There were 918 new registrations of caravans - almost 19 percent more than in the previous year (January to July 2021, source: Statistics Austria).
