Success for NGK Spark Plug: The spark plug manufacturer is extending its collaboration with the Ferrari Formula 1 team for another three years.

With the start of the new 2021 Formula 1 season, NGK Spark Plug announces that its status as a long-standing supplier of spark plugs and technical support to Scuderia Ferrari has been extended for a further three years. The collaboration dates back to 1996, meaning the current 2021 season is the 26th consecutive season in which the ignition and sensor specialist has powered the legendary Italian team's engines.
As Scuderia Ferrari's technical partner, NGK Spark Plug once again provides technical expertise to Ferrari's technical team and continues to deliver bespoke high-performance ignition technologies for every race car manufactured in Maranello.
"The knowledge we have gained through our participation in all types of racing, including Formula 1, has greatly benefited our original equipment and aftermarket products. Precious metal and semi-plated spark plugs, for example, are just two of the technologies first introduced in racing but now play a prominent role in our OE and aftermarket businesses, providing a range of driving and environmental benefits," says Damien Germès, President and CEO of NGK Spark Plug Europe.
