For the BMW Group, BASF shows the best performance in the report of the international non-profit organization CDP in terms of its CO2-emissions. The fact that BASF has anchored its commitment to combating climate change in the company was another reason for the decision. In addition, BASF develops solutions to help its customers reduce CO2-emissions. An example for the automotive industry is the integrated painting process, in which energy consumption is significantly reduced by eliminating an entire coating and baking step. “BMW and BASF have been united by a common goal for more than 50 years: sustainable mobility,” said Martin Brudermüller, CEO of BASF SE, at the award ceremony. “With this in mind, we have set ourselves the goal of growing in a CO2-neutral manner by 2030.”
