AVL List continues to grow

The global company increased its workforce by 1,000 employees last year to a total of 11,500 employees. Of these, around 4,300 employees work at the headquarters in Graz. 2019 was a good year for AVL: “We continued our activities well, expanded them technologically and put them on a strong industrial basis,” explains AVL CEO Helmut List. Because of the Corona crisis, around 1,700 employees in AVL's Austrian subsidiaries were registered for short-time work, and at the same time 60 percent of all employees switched to working from home. The remaining employees continue to work in the company - for example in production or in the laboratories. According to List, emphasis is placed on “social distancing”, as well as on cleanliness and the wearing of masks. AVL had already gained experience from China for Austria, formed a crisis team at an early stage and responded quickly with measures.
