AutoScout24 launches private car market
The pandemic has enormously increased the importance of the car: 34 percent of Austrians used the car more frequently during the Corona crisis than before, and 23 percent even used it much more often than in pre-Corona times. This is shown by a new Inoofact survey commissioned by AutoScout24. Buying a car was often postponed. The newly launched drive-in car market from AutoScout24 is intended to be a new opportunity to tackle the postponed purchase or sale of your own vehicle. And that arouses great interest: a whopping 86 percent of all Austrians would visit a private car market, shows the survey with 500 respondents.
Private car market monthly from June 2021
From now on every 3rd Sunday of the month at the premises of Drive-in cinemas in Groß Enzersdorf, right outside Vienna, a private car market will take place. Around 300 vehicles are sold privately to privately. It starts on June 20, 2021. There will not only be cars but also an exciting program for young and old. The offering ranges from children's bouncy castles to music to delicacies for your physical well-being. That is also important. At least 23 percent of those surveyed said that a private car market would be the perfect opportunity to spend a nice day with the family.
The advantage of the car market
“Anyone who wants to buy or sell a car will find a broad overview of the market here and save a lot of time,” says André Eckert, Country Manager of AutoScout24 in Austria. For 45 percent of those surveyed, the large selection is one of the most striking advantages of a private car market. The Austrians also particularly associate this with the possibility of being able to ask questions directly to the seller. However, almost every second person also hopes that it could be a little cheaper if the cars are sold privately. Buying a car is a matter of trust. That's why, for 46 percent, the main advantage of the physical car market is that you can see who you're buying from.
For more than a third, it offers the ideal conditions for direct comparison. The whole family can sit in the new vehicle of their dreams and try out what it might feel like to go for a ride in it. This also increases the sales chances. 22 percent are sure that it is easier to sell a car when you are in a relaxed mood. The desire for personal contact is currently not only present in private life, but also influences our purchasing actions. 15 percent of Austrians say they want personal contact when selling or buying a vehicle after everything has been digital in the past few months. "As a result of the pandemic, digitalization has taken a big step forward, especially in the automotive industry. This is also the way forward. But we must not underestimate human contact. Personal contact will always remain important in business. The new private car market powered by AutoScout24 meets this basic need," adds André Eckert.
