Autoscout24: Prices are falling, demand for electric cars is increasing
A study by AutoScout24 shows: Used electric cars are becoming cheaper and buyer interest is increasing significantly. Young people and city dwellers in particular are more open to electromobility.

Since the beginning of 2023, prices for used electric cars in Austria have fallen from an average of 52,800 euros to around 41,200 euros. At the same time, demand rose by 70 percent, while the offer on AutoScout24 grew from 4,500 to over 10,000 vehicles. Tesla models, especially Model 3 and Model Y, are in greatest demand, followed by Audi e-tron, Renault Zoe and VW ID.3.
According to a survey, 17 percent of Austrians said they would rather buy a new electric car today, and among 18 to 24 year olds the figure was as high as 28 percent. In the used car market, 13 percent of prospective buyers are more interested, while among 18 to 24 year olds the figure is 26 percent. Regionally, Vienna and Burgenland are at the top with 21 percent each, while interest is lowest in Carinthia.
