AutoScout24 enables online purchase of vehicles

Jochen Jakopitsch, Vertriebsleiter Autoscout24-Österreich

Users can now choose their desired model online and have it conveniently delivered to their home. AutoScout24 is the first vehicle portal in Austria to bring a central part of the sales process online and supports dealers in keeping their business running. Verified purchase requests create an advantage for retailers and customers; use is free of charge for retailers. In detail: Anyone who is currently interested in a car can use AutoScout24 OneClick Light to submit a purchase request online for both new and used cars at participating dealers. There are no restrictions in terms of brand, model or price range. Interested parties who have found a suitable vehicle can click on the new link “To purchase inquiry”. They then enter all the data necessary for the reservation online and select additional services, such as leasing, delivery or trade-in of an old vehicle. The AutoScout24 advisor then contacts the buyer and forwards all qualified inquiries to the dealers. If the desired vehicle is available, the non-binding reservation is made and the customer is one step closer to their dream car from the comfort of their couch. Details about the purchase contract, payment and handover are made directly by the dealer and the new car owner.

Entry into online car trading

“We would like to continue to enable customers and dealers to sell vehicles in the current exceptional situation and have therefore pulled out all the stops to be able to provide them free of charge with the products that support them in digitizing their sales processes,” explains Jochen Jakopitsch from AutoScout24. To make it easier for dealers to get started, AutoScout24 also has an explanatory guide How-To video created in which the new service is presented simply and clearly.

Virtual tours increasingly important

Buying a car online is very conceivable for 41 percent of Austrians and is therefore in keeping with the times. 4 out of 10 Austrians would buy a car online with a click of the mouse and receive it on their doorstep. Every second person from the generation under 30 is above average open to buying a car online, but 38 percent of those aged 50 to 65 would also give it a try.
