Chasing points with the successful car

It almost didn't happen due to the Corona madness. But it looks like the time has now come for Florian Janits to be able to celebrate a pleasant comeback to the racing scene this year. After a year of artistic break, the 22-year-old from Burgenland is fighting for points in the ADAC GT4 Germany series with the Upper Austrian True Racing Team. And this has August 14th to 16th (at the Nürburgring) in its calendar as the first of a total of six race weekends. There will be two sprint races over a period of one hour with a driver change at half time. Just like in the renowned ADAC GT Masters, in whose supporting program the ADAC GT4 Germany is anchored.
“I am familiar with the racing format with the sprint races, so from that point of view there will be no difficulties,” says Florian Janits, who last drove a Mercedes AMG through the season in the GT4 European Series in 2018, looking forward to his new task. And that sounds promising, as the True Racing team with Reiter Engineering is the German crew that starts the race with the KTM X-Bow GT4 as last year's overall winner, i.e. as defending champion. This vehicle is waiting for the youngster from Steinberg-Dörfl in southern Burgenland. With the KTM X-Bow GT4 Evo, Reiter Engineering is even using a further development of last year's car this year. “But I don’t know if we’ll get it,” says Janits, who recently tested both the old and the brand new model at the Red Bull Ring and is accordingly thrilled. "I felt very comfortable both there and I got along really well with the cars. The As is well known, after his years of karting training, Janits also performed consistently well in Formula 4.
