ASFINAG confirms the use of the digital vignette for test drive license plates
At the request of the Federal Guild, ASFINAG provided information about the legal interpretation of the toll regulations with regard to the digital vignette in connection with the use of a test drive license plate in accordance with Section 45 KFG. In the sense that this is equivalent to the adhesive vignette.
ASFINAG confirms the use of the digital vignette for test drive license plates
Complaints have repeatedly been made to the Federal Guild that ASFINAG does not accept the digital vignette for test drives in accordance with Section 45 KFG (blue license plates). Even though the Federal Guild has always explicitly emphasized that the digital vignette is valid and thus reduces bureaucratic effort, there were still differences in the interpretation of the toll regulations.
In a direct request to ASFINAG, the management of Maut Service GmbH has now confirmed that both variants of the vignette (adhesive vignette and also digital vignette) are legally absolutely equivalent, including for test drive license plates. They therefore see no need for changes to the existing regulations, but will raise the awareness of the toll supervisory authorities accordingly. The professional representation is pleased that the ASFINAG management shares the interpretation of the federal guild, but requests that the specific facts be passed on if any cases arise again.
