44.8 percent electric cars

Tobias Hartmann wird den neu geschaffenen Bereich „Operations“ leiten mit Fokus auf die Gebrauchtwagenvermarktung.

Raiffeisen-Leasing Fleet Management (RLFPM), the third largest fleet management provider in the country, reports a record number of new registrations in the area of electric vehicles: E-cars already accounted for no less than 44.8 percent of the new contracts concluded between January and August 2021.

Of these, 31.8 percentage points were fully electric vehicles (BEV) and 13.0 percentage points were hybrid vehicles (PHEV and HEV). RLFPM is therefore the domestic fleet manager with the highest proportion of electric vehicles in the portfolio. Raiffeisen therefore sees itself in a leading position when it comes to e-mobility.

“We ourselves are impressed by how quickly the proportion of electric vehicles in our portfolio has grown,” says RLFPM Managing Director Renato Eggner. The company's long-standing commitment to e-mobility is now paying off. "Our customers value our comprehensive expertise and know that, in addition to attractive full-service leasing offers, we also have a lot of know-how from residential construction and real estate financing from Raiffeisen-Leasing. This means we can offer comprehensive advice and financing solutions for intelligent charging infrastructure, photovoltaic systems and buffer storage. This means that switching from the gas pump to the charging station also makes economic sense," continues Eggner.

New focus on used electric vehicles

The increasing number of electric vehicles in domestic companies is also increasingly having an impact on the used car market, where private individuals are happy about well-maintained electric cars at significantly more affordable prices. Raiffeisen-Leasing is reacting to this by repositioning itself organizationally: Since October 1, 2021, Tobias Hartmann has headed the newly created “Operations” department, which takes care of all technical and organizational issues of the vehicles, from purchasing to ongoing operations through to recycling at the end of the contract. The data and experiences gained are then incorporated into the calculation of new vehicles. A particular focus is on used car marketing.

"Since recycling is an important part of our professional fleet management, we are of course intensively concerned with developments in the used car market for electric vehicles. Many private customers worry whether the battery power of an electric car is still sufficient after a few years as a company vehicle, but we can guarantee this thanks to the complete maintenance documentation and professional management," explains Eggner.
