1.6% increase in the collective agreement for body shop technicians
“Collective contract negotiations in times of a restart are a particular challenge for everyone involved,” emphasizes Erik Papinski, Federal Guild Master of Body Construction Technicians, at the beginning of the collective contract negotiations. Conducting a negotiation about a coming year, the future of which cannot currently be estimated in the slightest, requires understanding and openness so that a sustainable foundation of trust can be created. Based on the unforeseeable future, the negotiating partners agreed on an increase in collective bargaining wages of 1.6%, just above the CPI. This increase can also be applied to the parallel displacement. (The calculated euro value per wage level on the KV wage must be applied to the actual remuneration for the respective wage level).
This increase appliesnot retroactiveas of May 1st, but only applies on July 1st, 2020. Papinski emphasizes that this made it possible to avoid uncertainties in connection with any short-time work and a roll-up through payroll accounting. To compensate for the burden during the Covid crisis, atax-free Bonus payment(Covid allowance) of 100 euros granted as of October 31, 2020.
Evaluation discussions planned for autumn 2020
Due to the extraordinary situation, this conclusion of the collective agreement was only agreed for ten months (July 1, 2020 to April 31, 2021). "The developments in the next few months are uncertain. This period must therefore be monitored and continually evaluated," emphasizes Papinski. “Sustainable stress could be avoided this year, but it is important that the hand remains outstretched.”
